Kibet and Lebid win European cross titles

Hilda Kibet, representing the Netherlands and Ukraine's Serhiy Lebid won the women's and men's senior races respectively at the European Cross Country Championships in Brussels.

It was allready the 8th European cross title for Lebid.

"I put all my gold medals on the wall of a room in my house and there is still a little space left. I've run in all 15 of the SPAR European Cross Country Championships and I want to continue for as long as I can," said Lebid.

"I made this race very hard for myself. With two laps to go I decided to accelerate. I didn't want to still have the steeplechasers like Augusto with me close to the finish line, because they are the better sprinters," said Kibet.
