Kiprop and Belete win Diekirch Eurocross
February 17, 2009
African runners dominated the Diekirch Eurocross with Kenyan Wilson Kiprop winning the man's race and Ethiopien Mimi Belete taking the women's competition.
Kiprop won a close battle against his countryman Titus Masai. They were followed by another Kenyan Robert Sigei.
The women's race was a Belete sisters' affair with Mimi winning ahead of Almensh. Hanane Ouhaddou of Morocco was trying hard to keep up the pace with the Ethiopians but had to give in and settle for the third spot.
The Belete sisters are in a process of obtaining Belgian nationality.
