A good day for hosts and Morocco - Mediterranean Games, Day 3

The new Italian record set by Cuban-born Libania Grenot in the women’s 400m was in the spotlight at the third day of the Mediterranean Games in Pescara.

Grenot, who married Italian Silvio Scaffetti in September 2006, clocked 50.30sec smashing her own national record of 50.83 set in the semi-finals of the Olympic Games in Beijing.

“I am without words. I expected to break the italian record but not this time," she said after the race.
