Bayer 8.49m, Friedrich 2.01m – German Champs, Day 1

On day one of the German Championships in the southern city of Ulm Sebastian Bayer produced the highlight. With a superb 8.49m leap he left no doubts: he is back in top form just in time.
In fine and warm weather, in front of about 15,000 spectators, Ariane Friedrich showed another solid performance, taking the High Jump with 2.01m.
