Masai wins 10k, Cantwell takes men’s shot put crown in Berlin (+ video)

With the Olympic and two-time defending world champion Tirunesh Dibaba of Ethiopia injured the women’s 10,000 metres world championships title shockingly went to Linet Masai of Kenya in Berlin.
"I can’t believe it! I’m so grateful for the win. I didn’t give up," Masai said. The Silver and Bronze medals went to Ethiopia with Meselech Melkamu and Wude Ayalew finishing second and third respectively.
Meanwhile, American Christian Cantwell came up big to win the men’s Shot Put with a world-leading 22.03m, ahead of Olympic champion Tomasz Majewski of Poland.
