Mulaudzi, Ramolefi and Naude sparkle in the Yellow Pages Series 2 in Durban
February 27, 2010
Mbulani Mulaudzi stole the show as he defied the wind to lead the field home from 500 metres to go, in a thrilling 1500 metres race at the second leg of the Yellow Pages Series held at the Kings Park athletics stadium in Durban this evening.
On a night in which Elizna Naude threw the discus a distance of 64.49 metres to become the second athlete to join the Commonwealth A category national shortlist for action in India later this year, Mulaudzi gave the crowd much to cheer about in winning the 1500 metres in 3 min 43.88 secs.
“The pace was too slow for me and with just over a lap to go I moved to the front and made the race my own,” said world indoor 800 metres champion Mulaudzi.
