Farah sets new 10k GB road record

Defending champion Mo Farah set a new British road record to win the Bupa London 10,000m on Monday.

GB's Farah clocked 27 minutes and 44 seconds in the race as he outsprinted Kenya's world record holder Micah Kogo to clinch victory by five seconds. Farah's US-based compatriot Chris Thompson was third in 28mins 17secs.

"I knew I was in great shape coming into the race and I was confident," said Farah.

In the women's race, Kenya's Mary Keitany, the world record holder over 25km, raced to victory in a new course record and lifetime best of 31:05.
