US champion Nick Symmonds may be among the world’s 800m elite, but away from the track he likes nothing more than to cast a line and fish as he told spikesmag.com.

“I love to fish. I grew up in Rockies fishing in trout streams and when I moved out here to Eugene, Oregon and as I’m by the ocean, I’ve become really keen on ocean fishing and fishing for sharks! The only drawback is the best fishing season is in the summer and that, of course, clashes with my track season.
