Euro Indoor Champ stats - day 1 afternoon

A compilation of some interesting facts after the afternoon session of the 2011 European Indoor Championships.

Women's 60m Hurdles:

* The winning margin of 0.00 second is the smallest ever in the history of the European Indoor Championships.The previous minimum was 0.01 in 1996 and 2002. (Not counting hand timed difference of 0.0second)

* The differential between third and fourth, 0.13 seconds, tied the maximum differential between 3rd and 4th at the Euro Indoor Champs.

* The best marks for place for second (7.80 by Ofili) and third (7.83 by Vukicevic) at the European Indoor Championships was
recorded. The previous best mark for second was 7.84 by Ewanje-Epee in 1990 and for third was 7.90 by Knabve in 1986.

* Nytra won first gold for Germany (not counting GDR) at 60mH in the Euro Indoor Champs. She also recorded the fastest time by a German hurdler (again not counting GDR) at Euro Indoor Champs.

* Ofili won first silver for Great Britain at 60mH in the Euro Indoor Champs.

* Vukicevic won first medal of any kind for Norway at 60mH in the Euro Indoor Champs.

Men's 60m Hurdles:

* Svoboda won first gold for Czech Republic (not counting Czechoslovakia) at 60mH in Euro Indoor Champs. It was the second medal for Svoboda at Euro Indoor Champ, having won bronze two years ago. His time, 7.49, is the fastest time by a Czech hurdler in the Euro Indoor Champs.

* Darien won the first ever silver medal for France (although France has won three golds, they have never won a silver medal) at 60mH in the history of the Euro Indoor Champs.

Women's Pentathlon:

* The margin of victory, 17 points, tied the smallest ever winning margin in the Euro Indoor Champ. In 2007 Kluft won by 17 points.

* Nana Djimou Ida won the first gold medal for France in Pentathlon in Euro Indoor Champs.

* Skujyte won the first medal of any kind for Lithuania in Pentathlon in Euro Indoor Champs.

Men's Shot Put:

* Germany won gold and silver in Men's Shot Put for the first time in Euro Indoor Champ (not counting GDR).
